The 0th law of thermodynamics states that if system A is in thermal equilibrium with system B and system B is in thermal equilibrium with system C, then system A and system C are also in thermal equilibrium, whether or not they are in direct contact with each other. This means that they have the same temperature and there is no net heat transfer between them.
